Restrictions begin today ahead of Hannah Laing’s Doof in the Park festival at Camperdown Park

Restrictions have come into effect at Camperdown Park from today (Friday 26 June) as preparations get under way for Dundee DJ Hannah Laing’s sold-out Doof in the Park festival next weekend.

Around 15,000 people are expected to attend the one-day dance music festival on Saturday 4 July, with event organisers EE Live beginning the build of the festival site from today.

As part of the preparations, sections of Camperdown Park will be fenced off while infrastructure is installed. Dundee City Council has advised that lorries and other delivery vehicles will be moving around the park throughout the build period, with some temporary access restrictions introduced for operational and public safety.

Although Camperdown Park will remain open during the build and dismantling process, there will be restrictions affecting the core path alongside the event site. Signage will be installed to help guide visitors around the affected areas.

On the day of the festival, Saturday 4 July, people without tickets are being encouraged to avoid Camperdown Park altogether, with around 15,000 festivalgoers expected to descend on the venue. The council is instead encouraging residents to visit Dundee’s many other parks and green spaces.

Camperdown Wildlife Centre will also be closed for the day, while there will be no access to the adventure play complex. Road restrictions will be introduced throughout the day, with major road closures around Camperdown Park coming into force from 9pm.

Following the event, dismantling of the festival site will continue, with the area expected to be fully cleared by Friday 10 July. Vehicle movements within the park will continue during this period as equipment is removed.
