Discovery Festival 2026 in Dundee has been postponed until next year.

In a statement released today, the Discovery Festival team confirmed that this year’s event in both Dundee and Darlington will no longer go ahead as planned. Instead, the festivals have been rescheduled for 2027.

Organisers said that when planning for the event began around a year ago, they could not have anticipated the current economic situation or the impact it would have on people’s disposable income.

They added that, despite their best efforts, a combination of rising operating costs and the announcement of other local events had significantly affected the festival, making it impossible to deliver the standard of experience that visitors have come to expect.

The statement reads: “We have therefore taken the difficult decision to postpone the events until 2027. Whilst not all artists will be available next year, the full 2027 exciting line-ups will be announced shortly.”

Festival organisers also confirmed that the Dundee event will feature an additional day when it returns in 2027.

Anyone who has already purchased tickets will not lose their booking. All tickets will automatically remain valid for the rescheduled festival weekends in 2027. Those who keep hold of their tickets will also receive an additional complimentary ticket for a day of their choice as a thank you for their continued support.

For Dundee ticket holders, organisers have also offered the option of exchanging tickets for this year’s Summers End festival in Angus.

Further details, including confirmed dates and booking information, will be sent directly to customers by their ticket provider in the coming weeks.

Apologising to festivalgoers, the Discovery Festival team said they were “very sorry” for the postponement and expressed hope that supporters would remain with the festival ahead of its return in 2027.
