The heartbeat of Dundee’s music scene is set to pulse once again – for just one day.
On Saturday 9 August 2025, The Author’s Den Antique Shop in Broughty Ferry will host a special Groucho’s pop-up event, honouring the memory of Alastair “Breeks” Brodie and the legacy of the iconic record store he ran for decades.
Since its closure in 2020, many have mourned the loss of Groucho’s as a record store – a place where countless Dundonians bought their first records, formed bands, rubbed shoulders with touring artists, or simply found belonging in its unique atmosphere.
Groucho’s reopened as a music bar in December 2023.
This special event invites all former customers, crate-diggers, music fans, and curious newcomers to browse original stock from the store and share their stories.
Whether you once worked behind the counter, queued outside for gig tickets, or discovered a life-changing record in the racks – this is your chance to relive the magic.
