Wendy’s is set to open its first restaurant in Dundee next week, marking a major step in the brand’s continued expansion across Scotland.

The globally recognised fast food chain will officially open its doors on Reform Street on 26 March, bringing its signature menu and dining experience to the city centre.

Located at 26-28 Reform Street at the former Friday's & Go site, the new restaurant will introduce Dundee customers to Wendy’s well-known range of freshly prepared food, including its square hamburgers made with fresh beef, spicy chicken sandwiches, and a variety of limited-edition items. The opening follows the brand’s return to Scotland in recent years, as it looks to grow its presence across the country.

To celebrate the launch, Wendy’s will be giving away a free Wendy’s Single burger to the first 100 customers who arrive before the doors open at 10.30am on opening day. The offer is expected to draw large crowds, with fans encouraged to arrive early for a chance to be among the first to try the new restaurant.

The Dundee site will also serve up some of Wendy’s most popular items, including the Baconator, BBQ Bacon Melt and its well-known Frosty desserts, including a special version made with KitKat. The brand says it aims to combine its globally recognised menu with a welcoming and lively atmosphere for customers.

Michael Clarke, Managing Director for Wendy’s in Europe, said the company has been encouraged by the response from Scottish customers so far. He described Dundee as a vibrant city and said the new opening reflects Wendy’s ambition to build a long-term presence in Scotland.

Arron Morley, Strategic Operations Manager at Square Burgers, the franchise operating the Dundee restaurant, added that the new opening will bring jobs to the area while introducing more people to the brand’s freshly prepared food and customer experience.

The arrival of Wendy’s on Reform Street is expected to add another popular food destination in Dundee’s city centre, with the opening day likely to generate significant interest from both locals and visitors alike.
