It’s been cats galore on Dundee Culture as new exhibition post goes viral

Dundee Culture has gone purr-fectly viral – and it’s all thanks to cats!

Following the announcement of the new exhibition Cats: From Predators to Pets, our social media pages have exploded with likes, shares and – best of all – hundreds of cat photos from across the city and beyond.

The exhibition, which explores the fascinating journey of cats from wild hunters to beloved companions, clearly struck a chord.

Within hours, our post had gathered thousands of reactions across Facebook and Instagram, with people flooding the comments to share pictures and stories of their own feline friends.

Frankie and Benny, Dundee Culture’s very own office cats, even made an appearance – and they were showered with love! We’re thrilled to see them getting the recognition they clearly feel they deserve.

This unexpected wave of cat appreciation not only shows the city’s love for its whiskered companions but also highlights just how deeply cats have embedded themselves into our culture – from sofas and streets to screens and stories.

Whether you’re a lifelong cat person or just enjoying the moment, it’s been heart-warming to see Dundee’s feline community take centre stage. Keep those cat pics coming – we’re loving every second of it!

And if you haven’t yet, be sure to check out Cats: From Predators to Pets, running from this Friday and then Monday to Friday, 9.30am–7pm (last entry 5pm).

Because every cat has a tale – and this exhibition tells it brilliantly.
