A new express bus service connecting Dundee to Aberdeen Airport is launching this week, further improving the city’s growing network of airport links.
Operated by Scottish electric bus company Ember, the route will run once daily between Dundee and Aberdeen, stopping at Blairgowrie, Braemar and Banchory.
The first service departs Dundee city centre at 8.13am on Wednesday and arrives at Aberdeen Airport by 11.32am. The return journey leaves the airport at 3pm.
The addition of this route marks another significant step forward for public transport in Dundee.
It follows the hugely popular introduction of Xplore Dundee’s service to Edinburgh Airport and the more recent launch of a FlixBus connection to Glasgow Airport.
With Ember’s new service to Aberdeen, Dundee is now directly linked to the airports of Scotland’s three largest cities.
The new E11 service also offers scenic travel through the Cairngorms, with a stop in Braemar, known for its natural beauty and outdoor attractions.
A single adult ticket from Dundee to Braemar costs £8.60, while fares from Blairgowrie are £5.70 to Braemar and £10.50 to Aberdeen Airport.
Initially operating with one return service per day and limited stops, Ember plans to expand the timetable in August with additional journeys and more pick-up points along the route. A fully registered service with broader coverage is expected to follow later this year.
The move is part of a wider trend towards improving sustainable travel options across Tayside and beyond.
With more affordable and environmentally-friendly services now connecting Dundee to Scotland’s major airports, the city is becoming a more accessible hub for both local travellers and visitors.
