Dundee is hosting the Scottish Esports League live finals this September

ree

Dundee’s reputation as one of Scotland’s fastest-growing esports hubs is set to continue this September as the city hosts the live finals of the Scottish Esports League 6.

The event will take place at Gardyne Campus, part of Dundee & Angus College, across the weekend of Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 September.

Organised by eRena Sports, which now owns the Scottish Esports League following its acquisition of Esports Scotland, the live finals will see top competitors from across the country go head-to-head in some of the world’s most popular games. Saturday will feature the Rocket League final, while Sunday will host the climactic matches for League of Legends and Counter Strike 2.

This marks another major esports event for Dundee, with the city having first hosted the SEL finals during the SEL4 championships at Dundee Contemporary Arts (DCA).

Since then, Dundee has continued to grow its presence in the competitive gaming scene, supported by infrastructure, talent, and education initiatives.

Gardyne Campus is home to Scotland’s first dedicated esports degree programme, and the college is using the SEL6 finals to open its doors to the public and showcase its professional-grade esports facilities.

The event will include live commentary, on-stage action, and opportunities to meet players competing at the highest level of Scottish esports.

Alongside the finals, a variety of gaming-themed activities will be available throughout the weekend.

These include a Mario Kart tournament, the UK’s first e-tennis meta software experience, professional sim racing rigs, and challenges to beat pro players in FIFA and Fortnite.

Entry to the event is free, with tickets now available via Eventbrite. Organisers expect strong interest and are encouraging early registration to secure a place.
