Dundee DJ and producer Hannah Laing has been named one of the top 25 DJs who defined 2025 by Mixmag, securing an impressive eighth place on the influential list.
The recognition places her alongside some of the biggest names in dance music and marks another major milestone in what has been a standout year.
Mixmag’s feature highlights artists who have shaped the sound, culture and direction of electronic music over the past year.
Hannah Laing appears on the list alongside well-known figures such as Batu, Sub Focus and Tim Reaper, underlining her growing impact on the global dance scene.
The past year has seen Hannah release a string of popular tracks including “4am in a Rave”, “Love is a Drug”, “Bass Boys” and “Have You Ever Loved (Ellie)”.
Her rise has been matched by high-profile performances, including a residency at Hï Ibiza, the biggest nightclub in the world.
She has also achieved major career milestones in 2025, from selling out her first large-scale headline show at Manchester’s Aviva Studios to making her debut at Tomorrowland.
Alongside international touring across the US and Asia, she launched her first festival, Doof in the Park, which welcomed 15,000 people to Camperdown Park in Dundee.
In its write-up, Mixmag praised Hannah for keeping her roots at the heart of her success, describing it as inspiring that a young, working-class woman from Dundee is making such a mark on dance music while continuing to support her hometown.
The magazine highlighted her commitment to grassroots venues and local scenes, including surprise appearances and community-focused projects.
Most recently, Hannah has launched Doof Studios in Dundee in collaboration with local charity Turn the Tables.
The initiative aims to provide DJ classes, mentorship and workshops for socially disadvantaged people in the area.
Just two years on from leaving her job as a dental assistant after landing a UK Top 40 hit, Hannah Laing’s rapid rise continues, with 2025 firmly marking her as one of dance music’s defining figures.
