Anastasia Vaipan-Law and Luke Digby delivered a standout performance at the European Figure Skating Championships in Sheffield, securing qualification for the Pairs Free Program after an impressive Short Program score of 63.98.


Skating in front of a home crowd, the Dundee-based pair produced a clean and confident routine that earned them a new season’s best score and placed them 5th overall in the standings.


The performance was met with loud support inside the arena and praise from across the skating community.


The Championships being held in Sheffield have added extra significance to the moment, with British skaters competing on home ice at one of the biggest events in the European calendar. For Vaipan-Law and Digby, the occasion appeared to bring out their very best.


Ice Dundee described the skate as “incredible”, highlighting the clean execution and the steady progress the pair have made throughout the season. The club also thanked the wider coaching team for the work happening behind the scenes.


The result means the duo now move on to the Pairs Free Program, which takes place tomorrow evening. Momentum is firmly on their side as they prepare for the next stage of the competition.


With confidence growing and a home crowd behind them, all eyes will be on Vaipan-Law and Digby as they look to build on a memorable Short Program in Sheffield
