To commemorate the 80th anniversary of VE Day, Xplore Dundee is offering free travel to all serving and former members of the Armed Forces on Thursday 8 May, which is today.
The gesture honours the bravery and dedication of those who have served the country, as the city and nation pause to reflect on the end of World War II in Europe.
On Thursday 8 May, the following individuals are invited to take advantage of this special offer:
Veterans wearing medals or a veterans’ badge
Serving personnel in uniform or with valid military ID
Xplore Dundee encourages all eligible members of the Armed Forces to utilise this opportunity as a token of appreciation for their service.
A spokesperson for the company said: “This VE Day, Thursday 8 May, Xplore Dundee is proud to offer free travel to all serving and former members of the Armed Forces.”
VE Day – Victory in Europe Day – marks the date in 1945 when Nazi Germany formally surrendered, bringing the Second World War in Europe to an end.
Dundee, like many other cities, made significant contributions during the war, and this year’s milestone serves as a moment to reflect and say thank you.
