Organisers behind WestFest have confirmed temporary road closures and traffic management measures will be introduced across Dundee’s West End during this year’s festival.
The changes will come into effect on 7 June as thousands of people are expected to attend the popular community event, which has become one of Dundee’s biggest annual festivals in recent years.
According to organisers, the temporary traffic management plan will include road closures around the main event area as well as a one-way system along Magdalen Yard Road between 8am and 8pm.
WestFest says the measures are being introduced to help keep visitors, residents and businesses safe throughout the day while allowing the festival to operate smoothly across the busy West End area.
The festival committee has also acknowledged that the temporary changes may impact local residents and business owners. In response, members of the public are being invited to attend a WestFest committee meeting at Blackness Public Library on 13 May where they can ask questions and discuss the plans further.
WestFest has continued to grow in popularity year after year, bringing live music, food, entertainment, markets and community events to Dundee’s West End. The festival regularly attracts large crowds from across the city and beyond.
Further details about the traffic management arrangements and affected routes have been shared by organisers through WestFest’s official social media channels ahead of the event.
