Country-pop stars Ward Thomas have been announced as a support act for Tom Jones at his Defy Explanation Tour stop in Dundee’s Slessor Gardens on Sunday 27 July 2025, bringing their chart-topping sound to one of Scotland’s premier outdoor venues.

The twin sisters, Catherine and Lizzy Ward Thomas, are known for their soaring harmonies, emotional depth, and captivating live performances. Their 2016 album Cartwheels made history as the first UK country album to reach No.1 on the Official Albums Chart, and the duo have continued to impress fans with hits such as Carry You Home and No Filter.

Having previously graced stages at Glastonbury and the Royal Albert Hall, Ward Thomas are no strangers to high-profile performances — and their presence in Dundee is expected to set the perfect tone for what will be a memorable night headlined by global icon Sir Tom Jones.

Sunday 27th July marks the final day of the three-day Discovery Festival, which is bringing an array of world-class music acts to Dundee’s waterfront. More artists for the Sunday line-up are due to be announced soon, with organisers promising an unforgettable close to the weekend celebration.

Tickets for Sunday’s show are already on sale, starting from £55 plus booking fee, and demand is high. With legendary names and rising stars sharing the stage, it’s set to be one of the standout live music events of summer 2025.
