The Dundee Museum of Transport has welcomed a remarkable new addition to its growing collection — a 1953 AEC Regent III double-decker bus, painted in the traditional Dundee Corporation livery.

The classic vehicle, once a familiar sight on city streets during the golden age of public transport, has been preserved thanks to support from the National Fund for Acquisitions.

The bus served generations of Dundonians, transporting passengers across the city in the post-war years.

To allow for its safe arrival, the museum closed to the public on Friday as the bus was carefully moved into place.

Now on display, the vehicle is expected to become a standout attraction, offering visitors a nostalgic glimpse into Dundee’s transport past.

The museum says the acquisition reinforces its commitment to preserving the city’s rich transport heritage and adds to its already impressive collection of vintage vehicles.
