V&A Dundee has announced a brand-new late-night event this autumn, offering a one-night-only nightclub takeover inside the museum.
Titled Night Garden, the special evening is inspired by the museum’s Garden Futures exhibition and will see the space transformed with DJs, immersive installations, live performances and screenings. Visitors will also be able to enjoy food, drinks and late-night gallery access throughout the event.
Headlining the night is Dundee’s own Kilimanjaro, the DJ and producer who has performed at some of the world’s biggest festivals and venues including Glastonbury, Coachella, DC-10 and Ushuaia.
With Zambian roots and a Scottish upbringing, he has worked alongside some of the biggest names in electronic music, such as Fred Again, Jazzy, Jayda G and Weval, and his music has clocked up hundreds of millions of plays worldwide.
The event will take place on Friday 31 October, bringing Halloween energy to the city with a mix of music and creative experiences unlike anything seen before at the museum.
It will be the first time V&A Dundee has hosted a nightclub takeover of this kind.
Organisers say the night is set to blur the lines between art, music and nightlife, giving guests the chance to experience the museum in a completely new way.
Alongside Kilimanjaro’s high-energy set, there will be a line-up of performers and visual artists contributing to the atmosphere.
The event is strictly for those aged 18 and over, with flashing lights in use across the night.
