Dundee Rep Theatre has been awarded more than £24,000 for work to protect and strengthen its historic Tay Square home.
The theatre will receive £24,145 to carry out protection works to the listed building’s original glazing, helping make its windows more resilient to increased storm exposure, strong winds and fluctuations in temperature.
The work will also help maintain the safe use of the popular city centre venue and safeguard original elements of the building for the future.
The funding has been awarded through the Adapted Cultural and Creative Buildings Fund, with Dundee Rep one of eight organisations across Scotland sharing a total of £347,520.
The fund, co-designed and managed by Creative Scotland and the Scottish Futures Trust, supports cultural organisations in adapting buildings they own to changing environmental and weather conditions.
It is also designed to gather information from the projects to help inform future investment in Scotland’s cultural and creative buildings.
Announcing the award, Dundee Rep said it was “delighted” to have secured the £24,145 funding.
The Tay Square theatre opened in 1982 and is home to Dundee Rep and Scottish Dance Theatre.
