A yellow weather warning for snow has been issued for Dundee, with major travel disruption already affecting rail services.
ScotRail confirmed that all trains north of Dundee have been cancelled due to heavy snowfall expected overnight.
The warning, issued by the Met Office, has been extended until Monday at 23:59, with a further snow warning in place for Tuesday.
Passengers have been advised that services are unlikely to resume until at least midday tomorrow, depending on conditions.
Residents are being urged to avoid unnecessary travel and to check updates before setting off.
