Scottish indie rock favourites The View are set to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their iconic debut album Hats Off To The Buskers with a huge Dundee show at LIVEHOUSE in 2027.
The Dundee band will perform at the city’s newest major music venue on 16 April 2027 as part of celebrations marking two decades since the release of the album that launched them to national fame.
Released in 2007, Hats Off To The Buskers became one of the defining Scottish albums of the 2000s, featuring hit tracks including Same Jeans, Wasted Little DJs, Superstar Tradesman and Face for the Radio. The album reached number one in the UK Albums Chart and helped establish The View as one of Scotland’s biggest indie acts.
The announcement is expected to generate huge excitement among fans in Dundee, with the show bringing one of the city’s most successful bands back home for a major anniversary performance. LIVEHOUSE is also continuing to attract high-profile events following its opening, further strengthening Dundee’s growing live music scene.
Tickets for the show will first go on sale through Gigs in Scotland on 13 May 2026 at 10am, before general sale begins on 15 May 2026 at 10am. The announcement itself was officially embargoed until 10am on 11 May 2026.
The concert is expected to celebrate the album in full alongside some of the band’s best-known tracks from across their career. Fans are already anticipating strong demand for tickets given the significance of both the album and the Dundee homecoming setting.
Hats Off To The Buskers remains closely tied to the city’s music identity and indie scene during the mid-2000s.
Nearly twenty years later, the album continues to be regarded as a landmark Scottish record that introduced The View to audiences around the world.
