A new Everlast gym is set to open inside Dundee’s Overgate Shopping Centre next year as further investment is planned for the city centre destination.

Frasers Group has confirmed that an Everlast concept gym will open at Overgate in 2027, adding a major new leisure offering to the shopping centre.

The gym will become the latest Frasers Group brand to establish a presence at Overgate following the opening of the three-storey FRASERS department store and FLANNELS.

Its arrival is expected to help increase occupancy at the 440,000 sq ft shopping centre from 90% to 96%.

Further details on the new gym, including its opening date and what facilities will be available, have yet to be announced.

The plans were revealed as Overgate marked one year since the opening of its flagship FRASERS store and published new figures showing an increase in visitors and sales.

FRASERS opened in June 2025 following an investment of more than £5 million, taking over around 60,000 sq ft across three floors and creating more than 80 jobs.

Since its arrival, Overgate says footfall across the centre has increased by 7%, while retailer sales have risen by 26%.

The department store combines premium fashion, beauty, lifestyle and sports brands under one roof and also houses Sports Direct, USC and GAME.

Frasers Group’s investment in Overgate continued in December 2025 when a new 5,000 sq ft FLANNELS store opened, bringing another selection of luxury and contemporary fashion brands to Dundee.

The addition of Everlast in 2027 will see that investment extend further into leisure, as Overgate looks beyond traditional retail to attract more people into the centre.

Frasers Group has owned Overgate since acquiring the shopping centre in March 2023 and has since overseen significant changes to its tenant mix.

Malcolm Angus, Centre Manager at Overgate, said the opening of FRASERS had already had a major impact on the centre.

He said: “The opening of FRASERS has been a breath of fresh air for the centre and reflects Frasers Group’s continued investment in the high street. In the first year of opening footfall has increased 7% and the centre looks and feels busier walking around.

“Sales have been strong and FRASERS has found a sweet spot in the market when it comes to the fashion and sportswear brands people desire.

“Its arrival has been good for attracting new retailers to open in Overgate – but also for existing tenants too, many of whom have undertaken store extensions and refurbishments. The centre now has a strong retail mix and demand for units is high.”

Lauren Barrie, Chief Retail Officer at Frasers Group, said the company was proud to be playing a role in the future of Dundee’s retail landscape.

She said: “We are always looking for new and innovative ways to inspire our customers and create standout shopping experiences.

“Our FRASERS concept store in Dundee does exactly that, bringing together sport, premium fashion, lifestyle and beauty under one roof. We are proud to be a part of shaping the future of Dundee’s retail landscape.”

No specific opening date for the new Everlast gym has yet been confirmed, with further details expected ahead of its arrival at Overgate in 2027.
