The V&A Dundee has just been nominated for TWO awards at the Scottish Design Awards

V&A Dundee is once again in the spotlight as the museum celebrates two nominations at this year’s Scottish Design Awards — recognising excellence across the fields of craft and creative innovation.

The critically acclaimed exhibition Kimono: Kyoto to Catwalk has been shortlisted in the Craft category. This visually rich campaign was developed in collaboration with Studio Form, Tiernan Crilley, and Flux Video, highlighting the global influence of Japanese fashion and design through a striking visual identity.

Meanwhile, The Selkie Trail — a delightful, family-friendly initiative developed by the V&A Dundee Young People’s Collective — has earned a nomination in the Design Excellence category.

The trail was co-designed with young people, featuring charming illustrations by Martin Baillie and the beloved character Selkie the Seal, specially created for the museum by award-winning textile designer Donna Wilson.

These nominations reflect V&A Dundee’s continued commitment to creativity, co-design, and community engagement — further cementing its place as a leading design institution in the UK.

Winners of the Scottish Design Awards will be announced later this year.
