Dundee will be turning up the heat next month as Tequila Festival UK makes its way to the city for the very first time.
The celebration of Mexican culture and spirit will take place at Verdant Works on Saturday 6 September, offering locals the chance to enjoy a true taste of Mexico.
The festival, which is owned and run by Mexicans, promises to bring all the energy and colour of a traditional fiesta.
Visitors will be greeted with a tequila or frozen margarita on arrival before setting off on a journey through more than 30 different tequilas and mezcals.
With guides on hand to talk people through the drinks, festivalgoers can discover the stories and flavours behind Mexico’s national spirit.
Alongside the drinks, there will be plenty of entertainment. A live Mariachi band will bring the sounds of Mexico to the heart of Dundee, joined by DJ DVent who will keep the party atmosphere going.
Authentic Mexican food and desserts will also be on offer, alongside cocktails and beers inspired by the country’s rich culinary heritage.
The festival is designed to be an immersive cultural experience, with organisers promising live performances, music, dancing, and surprises throughout the day. The idea is to transport guests straight to Mexico without leaving the city.
Tickets are priced at £25, which includes entry, a welcome drink, and access to all the entertainment. Drinks tokens for tequila, cocktails, and other refreshments can be purchased on the day using either cash or card.
Due to licensing laws, the event is strictly for those aged 18 and over, and dogs will not be permitted.
With Mexican culture at its heart and the chance to discover a wide variety of tequilas, the festival looks set to be a lively addition to Dundee’s events calendar.
Organisers are encouraging people to grab their sombreros, get their tickets early, and get ready to raise a glass with a loud “Salud!”
