Summer market events confirmed for Broughty Castle

A series of popular market events are set to return to Broughty Ferry this summer, following a successful start to the year.

Organisers have confirmed that the Yard Market and the Barket will be back at Broughty Castle, bringing a mix of local traders, handmade goods and community activity to the historic setting.

The markets first returned earlier this year, with April’s events drawing strong interest from visitors and traders alike. That early success has paved the way for a new run of dates across the summer months.

The next confirmed event will take place on 20 June, running from 10am to 4pm, with a focus on crafters and makers. Visitors can expect a wide range of locally made products, including giftware, homeware, food and drink.

Further dates have also been announced for July, with another market on 18 July offering a similar mix of independent traders and locally produced items. The following day, 19 July, will see the return of the Barket, a themed event dedicated to dogs and pets.

The Barket is expected to feature pet clothing, accessories and a fun dog show, with organisers encouraging attendees to dress up their pets for the occasion. The event has previously proved popular with families and dog owners, adding a lively and interactive element to the market weekend.

Organisers are also inviting stallholders to get involved, with a limited number of spaces still available for those looking to showcase their products. Interested traders have been encouraged to get in touch directly.

The return of the markets adds to a growing calendar of events in Broughty Ferry, continuing efforts to support local businesses and bring more visitors to the area across the summer.
