Dundee and the wider Tayside area are set to look to the skies as a Spitfire flypast takes place as part of the aircraft’s 90th anniversary celebrations.
The flight will travel from RAF Leuchars to RAF Lossiemouth, lasting around 55 minutes and passing over the region during the afternoon.
Originally scheduled earlier, the route has been adjusted, with the aircraft now expected to fly over the Forth Bridges before heading north towards Tayside.
Adding to the spectacle, the Spitfire will be escorted by a P-8 Poseidon aircraft, offering a rare pairing of historic and modern aviation in the same skies.
Residents across Dundee are being encouraged to keep an eye out around 2pm, when the aircraft may be visible depending on conditions and exact flight timing.
The flypast forms part of wider celebrations marking 90 years since the Spitfire first took flight, recognising its lasting importance in aviation history.
For those in Dundee, it offers a unique chance to witness a piece of that history passing directly overhead.
