Someone just put a banner on the Kingsway West walkway bridge apologising to a woman called Deborah - and it’s going down a storm

Updated: Jun 5

A surprise declaration of apology has appeared on a bridge above Dundee’s Kingsway, leaving drivers amused—and baffled.

The handwritten banner, hung on the footbridge near Old Glamis Road, reads: “DEBORAH MY QUEEN, I’M SORRY, YOUR DONUT”, complete with a bold red heart.

The cryptic message has captured the attention of commuters and social media users since its unexpected arrival this morning.

While the identity of “Donut” remains a mystery, the public response has been anything but quiet.

Dundee Culture took the trend a step further by posting an AI-generated follow-up image imagining Deborah’s fiery reply: “YA BAM! BRING ME A CLARK’S PEH & WE’LL TALK.”

The fictional exchange, crafted in true Dundonian style, quickly went viral across platforms.

Even Dundee and Angus College joined in the fun, noting the banner’s location just beside its Kingsway Campus.

In a cheeky AI-made post, the college addressed Deborah directly, encouraging her to leave Donut behind and consider signing up for a course instead.

Though the original sign still hangs above the road, its ripple effect continues to grow - uniting the city in curiosity, humour, and a fair bit of speculation over who Deborah is… and whether Donut’s apology will be accepted.
