People are discussing fictional works set in Dundee - and it’s an interesting read


The discussion of books set in Dundee became a hot discussion this week over on Reddit.


Reddit users discussed what fictional books were set in and around the City of Discovery after user Proper_Carpenter8872 took to the r/Dundee forum to ask fellow users what pieces of fiction books were set in Dundee, and it generated a lot of interesting results!


The Republic of Dundee by Gerald Fulton was one of the first featured on the thread, with user Sky_Hook stating that they wished Fulton would write a tenth anniversary sequel. They also mentioned Witches Blood by William Blain.


Another user, Reignbeaus mentionedEmotionally Weird by Kate Atkinson which looks at her experiences of living in the city.


The Polish Detective by Hania Allen was also brought into the discussion, a series which is set in and around Dundee.


Another user, gawaind55 suggested The Smiling School for Calvinists by Bill Duncan which too was also set in the city.
