Scottish athlete Eilish McColgan finished 15th in the Women's 10,000m event at the Paris 2024 Olympics, clocking a time of 31:20.58.

McColgan's finish marked a significant moment in her career, especially after having to withdraw from the European Championships just 18 minutes into the race due to injury.

Despite being told by a doctor that she might not run again, McColgan defied the odds and completed the race with a season's best performance.

Her fellow Team GB athlete, Megan Keith came last with a time of 33:00.00, but received cheers from the audience and was embraced by McColgan at the finish line, demonstrating true sportsmanship.

In an interview with the BBC, McColgan revealed her ambition to compete in her fifth Olympics in Los Angeles, with a focus on the marathon event.
