Details have been announced for Dundee’s annual Remembrance events, as the city prepares to pay tribute to those who lost their lives in wars and conflicts.
Commemorations began on Saturday, November 1, with a Laying of Crosses at 11am at the Garden of Remembrance at St Mary’s Church.
On Remembrance Sunday, November 9, the annual parade will set off from Dundee High School at 10.30am, moving down Reform Street and into Nethergate before halting at the Garden of Remembrance.
Led by HM Royal Marine Band (Scotland), it will include representatives from HMS Duncan, HMS Scotia, veterans and cadet forces. The Lord Provost will take the salute in Reform Street.
After the parade, the traditional wreath laying will take place at St Mary’s Church, followed by a service inside the church at 11.30am. A further commemoration service will be held at the City Cenotaph at Dundee Law at 12.15pm.
On Armistice Day, Tuesday, November 11, a short service and two-minute silence will take place in City Square at 11am. The public are invited to attend and pay their respects.
