New classical concert announced for V&A Dundee this summer

V&A Dundee just announced a summer concert with Dundee Symphony Orchestra, bringing classical music right into the museum this June.

The orchestra will perform for the first time inside the iconic waterfront building on June 13 at 7pm. It’s all part of a new partnership that celebrates music and art in Dundee.

Mozart’s Symphony No. 40 and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 4—two heavy hitters that may have been written less than twenty years apart, but honestly, they’ve both stood the test of time and are still favourites among classical fans. These are just some of the music that will be featured at the event.

Conductor Robert Dick will lead the orchestra, and he says the musicians are thrilled to play in such a unique space. You can expect the museum to turn into something special: a concert venue with a view of Dundee’s waterfront.

This event adds another layer to V&A Dundee’s line-up of live experiences and cultural happenings. Usually, the museum hosts exhibitions, talks, workshops, and performances—now it’s dipping into classical music, too.

Dundee Symphony Orchestra has been part of the city’s music scene for decades, with concerts that cover everything from old classics to new works. Teaming up with V&A Dundee means the event should draw in both dedicated classical fans and folks who just want to experience the museum in a new way.

You can grab tickets and check out more details on the V&A Dundee website.
