Dundee is bracing for severe disruption on Monday as Storm Floris approaches, with winds expected to reach up to 65mph in the city.
The Met Office has upgraded its warning from yellow to amber, with a risk of “danger to life” from flying debris, falling trees and overturned vehicles.
The amber warning will be in effect from 10am to 10pm on Monday, though gusty conditions are set to begin earlier in the day under a yellow alert that comes into force at 6am. The warning will return to yellow from 10pm to midnight.
Winds of 50-70mph are forecast in inland areas, with 80-90mph likely along coasts and hilltops. Dundee is currently forecast to see gusts of up to 63mph.
Western coastal regions are expected to see the strongest winds first, before the storm shifts towards north-eastern Scotland later in the day.
