Hundreds of people gathered on Magdalen Green over the weekend as WestFest 2026 returned with a packed programme of entertainment, activities and community spirit in Dundee's West End.

The annual free festival once again transformed the popular green space into a vibrant hub of music, food, arts, culture and family-friendly activities, attracting visitors from across the city and beyond.

Run entirely by volunteers, WestFest has become one of Dundee's most popular community events, with organisers working throughout the year to fundraise and ensure the festival can continue to be offered free of charge. While entry remains free, donations are encouraged to help cover the costs of staging the event and supporting its future.

Throughout the day, festivalgoers enjoyed live performances from the likes of The Vintage Girls, Demi McMahon, James Liandu and Kevin Findlay, alongside market stalls, local food vendors and activities designed to celebrate the diverse communities that make up Dundee's West End.

The event also provided an opportunity for local organisations, artists and businesses to showcase their work to thousands of visitors.

WestFest has grown significantly since its early beginnings and is now regarded as one of the highlights of Dundee's summer events calendar.

Its volunteer-led approach continues to be at the heart of the festival, with dozens of people contributing their time and effort behind the scenes to bring the event to life each year.

The weather wasn’t the greatest, but many people still came out to enjoy the festival. WestFest 2026 once again demonstrated the strength of Dundee's community spirit and the importance of grassroots events in bringing people together.
