Dundee’s Shayne Humphries helped Scotland get their men’s 3x3 wheelchair basketball campaign off to the perfect start with victory over South Africa.

Scotland produced a composed performance to secure the opening win of their Commonwealth Games campaign, giving Humphries and his teammates valuable momentum heading into their remaining group matches.

🏐 Cerys Cairns begins netball campaign against New Zealand

Perth’s Cerys Cairns made her Glasgow 2026 debut as Scotland opened their Pool B netball campaign against defending champions New Zealand.

Despite a determined performance, Scotland were unable to overcome one of the tournament favourites and began their campaign with defeat. The Thistles would have the chance to respond against Wales the following day.

Scotland suffered defeats to Tonga and England before producing an improved display against Singapore. Despite their efforts, they narrowly missed out on victory in the final game of the day, leaving everything to play for in their remaining group fixtures.

Perth swimmer Jensen Norris began his first senior Commonwealth Games campaign by representing Team Scotland in the mixed 4x100m freestyle relay at Tollcross International Swimming Centre.

Swimming the third leg in the heats, Norris helped Scotland finish second behind Jamaica to comfortably qualify for the final, marking an impressive start to his Games debut.
