Dundee’s history and heritage will be on full display this September as Doors Open Days returns for its 2025 edition, giving the public free access to some of the city’s most fascinating buildings.

The nationwide celebration, which first began in Glasgow, has grown into one of Scotland’s largest free cultural events, running each September across every local authority area across the country.

It offers a rare chance for residents and visitors alike to step inside venues that are often closed to the public, uncovering stories, architecture, and history that help shape the nation’s identity.

In Dundee, an array of landmarks will welcome guests over the weekend of Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 September 2025.

From historic churches to modern university facilities, and from artistic spaces to maritime treasures, the line-up highlights the city’s rich and varied character.
