Dundee DJ and producer Hannah Laing’s doof community music studio in Dundee is moving closer to completion, with the space expected to open its doors in October.
The studio, based at the Change Centre in the former Lynch Sports Centre, has been steadily taking shape over recent months.
In spring 2025, Robertson Construction Tayside came on board to support the project pro-bono and also donated £4,000 towards the build.
This was followed in July, when Dundee City Council granted doof Studios a building warrant, marking a major step forward.
August then focused on sourcing construction materials, contractors and equipment to bring the space together, ensuring everything was in place to keep the project on track.
With that phase now complete, work is pushing ahead towards the planned October finish.
Laing, who has become one of Dundee’s best-known names in the global music scene, launched the doof initiative to give back to her hometown.
The studio is expected to open new doors for aspiring musicians while strengthening Dundee’s reputation as a city of culture and creativity.
The doof team have thanked supporters for their patience and said the new facility will be “worth the wait,” promising an exciting new chapter for the city’s music community.
