IKEA has officially opened its new Plan and Order Point in Dundee, with the long-awaited launch now complete following a short delay earlier this week.
The store, located at Kingsway West Retail Park, welcomed its first customers this morning at 10am (Monday 23 March).
The opening had initially been postponed due to a delay in receiving the required Certificate of Occupation. However, the issue was quickly resolved, allowing the retailer to move ahead with the launch just days later than planned.
Now open to the public, the Dundee location introduces a new kind of IKEA experience, focused on planning and personalisation. Customers can book free design consultations with specialists to create kitchens, bedrooms and living spaces, or use in-store tools to design their own solutions.
Images from inside the store offer a first look at what visitors can expect, with a carefully designed showroom featuring a range of kitchen displays, storage ideas and home planning areas. The space has been created to inspire customers while helping them make the most of their homes.
While the full IKEA product range is not available to take away, customers can order from the entire catalogue, with options for home delivery or collection. The site also serves as a convenient hub for online order collection and returns.
The Dundee Plan and Order Point also includes a selection of home accessories available for immediate purchase, giving visitors the chance to pick up popular items on the spot.
The opening marks another step in IKEA’s wider expansion across the UK and strengthens its presence in Scotland. With doors now open, Dundee residents can experience the retailer’s new concept store for the first time.
