Dundee to roll out £3 all day Christmas parking at Bell Street car park

A special Christmas parking deal is being rolled out in Dundee as the newly refurbished Bell Street Hub prepares to welcome motorists back.
From Monday December 8, drivers will be able to park all day for just £3, with the offer running until early January.
The festive rate is designed to encourage people to return to the upgraded facility after its long closure and to support footfall in the city centre during the busy holiday season.
Council leader Cllr Mark Flynn said the offer will allow visitors to take their time in Dundee without worrying about parking costs.
He added that the hub remains an important part of the city’s car park network, even as it transitions towards a greener travel future.
Cllr Steven Rome echoed this, noting that the special rate aims to get people back into the habit of using Bell Street. Both councillors visited the site to promote the offer as the reopening gets underway.
The car park now features EV charging bays, accessible spaces and improved entry routes, with access moving to the westbound North Marketgait.
The underpass at Dudhope Crescent Road will reopen in spring for pedestrians and cyclists only, tying into the wider redevelopment.
The refurbishment project received over £16 million in combined funding from the UK Government and Transport Scotland.
Main contractor McLaughlin & Harvey delivered significant upgrades including solar-powered EV charging and improved mechanical systems.
The surrounding area will also benefit from enhanced landscaping and new active travel connections.
UK Roads and Buses Minister Simon Lightwood welcomed the reopening and the festive deal, saying the investment shows how targeted funding can support city centres, sustainable travel and local communities.
