Dundee’s Doof in the Park festival has been named as one of the most anticipated events in the UK this year, after being highlighted in a new feature by The Skinny.
The recognition places the homegrown festival alongside some of the biggest names in the country’s summer calendar, marking another major moment for Dundee’s growing reputation in music and events.
Launched by Dundonian DJ Hannah Laing, Doof in the Park made an immediate impact when it debuted at Camperdown Park last July.
Around 15,000 people attended the first edition, transforming the park into a large-scale dance music event and drawing crowds from across Scotland and beyond.
The festival is now set to return on 4 July for its second edition, again taking place at Camperdown. Anticipation is already building, with The Skinny highlighting it as a standout event and pointing to its strong line-up and rapid rise in popularity.
In its feature, the publication described “Hannah Laing’s massive Doof in the Park (4 Jul)” as one to watch, noting that Laing will be joined by major electronic artists including Paul van Dyk, Eddie Halliwell and Lilly Palmer. The mix of international names and local roots has helped shape the festival’s identity, blending global appeal with a distinctly Dundee feel.
Hannah Laing also shared her excitement ahead of the return, commenting on Dundee Culture’s socials to say she “can’t wait” for the second edition.
Her continued involvement and connection with the city remains a key part of the festival’s success, with many seeing it as a celebration of Dundee’s place on the wider music map.
