Dundee has claimed the title of Scotland’s warmest city today, reaching a high of 20°C, according to figures from the Met Office. As much of the country enjoys mild and sunny conditions, the City of Discovery edged ahead of other major locations to take the top spot.
Close behind were Inverness, Edinburgh, and Perth, all basking in temperatures of 19°C. Glasgow, Dunfermline, and Stirling followed with highs of 18°C, while Aberdeen lagged with a cooler 15°C under partly cloudy skies.
The sunshine over Dundee was matched by clear blue skies, with the scenic Dundee Law providing a striking backdrop in the city. Locals and visitors alike took to outdoor spaces to soak up the early summer warmth.
This warm spell highlights Dundee’s often-overlooked climate advantage. Situated on the east coast and sheltered by surrounding hills, the city frequently enjoys sunnier weather than its western counterparts.
Whether it's a walk along the Waterfront, a picnic at Magdalen Green, or a stroll through the Botanic Garden, it’s the perfect day to enjoy Dundee at its brightest.
