Dundee has been named the best place to live in Scotland for under 35s in a new feature by The Times, highlighting the city’s growing appeal to young adults.
The newspaper praised Dundee for offering “urban life on a budget”, pointing to the balance between city living, culture and affordability that continues to attract people in their 20s and early 30s.
A major factor behind the ranking is Dundee’s large student population, with around 25,000 students helping to shape the city’s atmosphere.
The Times noted that this brings energy to local pubs, music venues and weeknight nightlife, giving the city a lively feel throughout the year.
The feature also highlighted the range of social and community activities available for young people. Groups and initiatives aimed at helping people meet new friends were singled out as a key strength of living in Dundee.
One example mentioned was the Girls Who Walk group, which brings women together through regular walks, helping people connect, stay active and build friendships in a relaxed and welcoming way.
The recognition adds to Dundee’s growing reputation as a city that offers opportunity, creativity and quality of life without the high costs often associated with larger cities.
For many young people, Dundee’s mix of culture, community and affordability is increasingly making it the place to be.
