Boundary-breaking DJ, producer, label head, and Dundonian Hannah Laing has partnered with Turn The Tables and Street Soccer Scotland to launch doof Studios, a cutting-edge DJ and music production space for aspiring young musicians in Dundee and beyond.
The new studio, located within Dundee’s Change Centre—owned by the charity Street Soccer Scotland—offers an exciting opportunity for budding talent in the region.
Doof Studios is set to become a musical hub, equipped with high-end Pioneer DJ technology and a professional suite for diverse music production needs.
The space includes a purpose-built chill-out zone, giving users a place to unwind and refuel their creativity.
Aspiring DJs and producers who have dreamed of following in Hannah’s footsteps will have access to all they need to experiment, learn, and hone their skills.
True to its inclusive mission, doof Studios will be available for public rental at affordable rates, ensuring that budding artists have access to top-tier resources without financial barriers.
Beyond rentals, doof Studios will host community programs designed and delivered by Turn The Tables, a social enterprise committed to bringing DJ and music production training to socially disadvantaged individuals across Scotland.
The creation of doof Studios has been a community-driven effort. Though Hannah is personally contributing to the construction, the project’s primary funding comes from a Crowdfunding campaign, inviting local businesses and individuals to invest in this transformative project.
Each small donation contributes to transforming the former changing room space into a vibrant studio with state-of-the-art equipment.
Doof Studios not only signals a bright future for Dundee’s music scene but also reinforces the city’s reputation as a place where art and community thrive hand in hand. For more information on how to support this innovative venture, visit doof Studios' Crowdfunding page here.
