Dundee Cake has made a surprising appearance in a video game all about food making.

The cake appeared in Dessert Shop: The Sweet Shop Rose, an app game which lets you create desserts.

Dundee Cake originated in the city and is often a popular after dinner dessert with notable figures like the late Queen Elizabeth II who was said to be fond of Dundee Cake and would usually have it after dinner herself.

The cake was recently seen in the game after Twitter/X user Denise Wong posted a screenshot of the game featuring Dundee Cake on her profile.

Within the game, it describes Dundee Cake as “a fruit cake originated from Dundee, a costal city in Scotland. Oranges and almond imported from Spain are used to create this cake”

You can download Dessert Shop: The Sweet Shop Rose in the Apple App Store here.
