Dundee’s dance scene is shining a little brighter in the daylight thanks to Day Moves - a monthly daytime disco at Nola on Union Street that has become one of the city’s most refreshing music events.

Launched by local DJ Gav Will, Day Moves has built a loyal following over the past year. Held in the warm, light-filled cocktail lounge at Nola, the event flips the expectations of clubbing - offering a space to dance, connect and enjoy quality music without staying out into the early hours.

Running monthly, each edition brings together up to 100 attendees - a mix of seasoned clubbers, music lovers, and locals who appreciate a more relaxed way to enjoy electronic, disco and house music.

The vibe is laid-back but full of energy, proving that the joy of dancing doesn’t need to be reserved for dark rooms or late nights.

To mark its first anniversary, Day Moves is welcoming a special guest to the decks - Bill Brewster, the legendary DJ and co-author of Last Night a DJ Saved My Life.

Known for his deep knowledge of dance music history and expertly curated sets, Brewster’s appearance adds weight to the milestone while staying true to the event’s spirit of inclusivity and passion for music.

But while big names help draw attention, the heart of Day Moves lies in its community. The event has become a space where people come not just to dance, but to feel part of something - and with its friendly atmosphere and early finish, it offers a refreshing alternative for those with busy lives or early alarms.

As it enters its second year, Day Moves continues to prove that dance culture in Dundee is alive, evolving, and ready to be embraced at any hour - especially in the light.
