With thousands expected to attend Doof in the Park at Camperdown on Saturday 5 July, Dundee City Council has issued updated guidance to help locals and visitors plan ahead.

The one-day dance music festival, headlined by Dundee’s own Hannah Laing, is anticipated to draw around 15,000 people to the popular park venue. Organisers EE Live are behind the event, which is expected to be one of the largest of its kind ever held in the city.

Access and Safety Measures

To ensure the event runs smoothly and safely, the public should be aware of several short-term access restrictions in and around Camperdown Park:

  • Site setup begins Friday 27 June: Fencing and delivery operations will start ahead of the festival. Large vehicles, including lorries, will be moving through the park during the setup and takedown period.

  • Restricted areas: Some parts of the park will be cordoned off for public and operational safety. While Camperdown Park remains open, a section of the core path beside the event site will be temporarily inaccessible.

  • Wildlife Centre closure: Camperdown Wildlife Centre will be closed on Saturday 5 July, and the adventure play complex will not be accessible during the event.

  • Road closures: Major roads around the park will close from 9pm on the Saturday, with traffic restrictions expected to affect the surrounding area.

Clear signage will be in place throughout the park to help guide visitors during this period.

Advice for Non-Attendees

Those without tickets are being strongly encouraged to avoid Camperdown on the day of the event, and instead enjoy one of Dundee’s many other green spaces.

Councillor Nadia El-Nakla, depute convener of Climate, Environment and Biodiversity, said:

The Camperdown Park experience for those not attending Doof in the Park won’t be what people are used to on the day the festival is taking place. So to avoid disappointment we’re encouraging only people with event tickets to visit Camperdown on the Saturday.

After the festival wraps up, clear-up work will continue until Friday 11 July, with vehicle movements expected in and around the park during this time.
