Plans have been submitted to Dundee City Council which could see a new Burger King restaurant open at the former KFC site near Broughty Ferry.
Signage proposals lodged with the council show the fast food giant preparing to take over the vacant unit, which closed as a KFC in March earlier this year.
The move would mark Burger King’s second location in Dundee, alongside its existing restaurant at Kingsway West Retail Park.
Following the closure of KFC, many Dundonians had speculated over what could replace the site, with Greggs among the names frequently suggested online by locals.
If approved, the plans would bring another major fast food brand to the east side of the city and breathe new life into a unit which has sat empty for several months.
At this stage, the application relates to signage for the proposed restaurant. No opening date has yet been confirmed.
