Visitors to Broughty Castle can now enjoy a fun new photo opportunity, thanks to the arrival of two oversized deckchairs on the castle grounds.
As reported on by Visit Broughty Ferry on Facebook, the deckchairs were gifted by The Broughty Ferry Traders Association (BFTA).
The seaside-style chairs are already turning heads and encouraging people to stop and snap a picture.
Martin Goodfellow from BFTA officially handed the chairs over to Anna Day, Head of Culture and Libraries at Leisure and Culture Dundee. He said the idea was all about boosting tourism and giving people “another reason to stop, smile, and share their visit.”
Anna Day welcomed the colourful addition, saying: “The chairs are a brilliant addition to the Ferry and we’re so pleased to have them up at the castle. They’re also extremely comfy.”
The deckchairs are just one of several new efforts to shine a spotlight on the historic site. BFTA, Rotary Broughty Ferry, and the Community Council have come together to launch Friends of Broughty Castle - a new group dedicated to supporting and celebrating the landmark which was recently under threat of closure.
The post confirmed that the group will officially launch during Gala Week this July
