Judges from Britain in Bloom have inspected Dundee as part of the Bonnie Dundee entry in the City category for the 2024 awards.
The competition, overseen by the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS), recognises and supports communities that have united to bring positive and enduring changes to their local surroundings.
Bonnie Dundee represents a collaboration of various groups and organisations that have championed Dundee's participation in the City category for nearly two decades.
The initiative has fostered a city-wide alliance involving community groups, businesses, schools, and individuals, all working together to enhance Dundee's environment, making it cleaner, greener, brighter, and healthier.
Cllr Heather Anderson, the Climate, Environment & Biodiversity Convener, expressed her satisfaction with the judges' visit, highlighting the dedication of Dundee's volunteers and Council staff in maintaining the city's appeal throughout the year.
The judges conducted thorough assessments at various locations, including Barnhill Rock Garden, Dawson Park Community Garden, and the University of Dundee Botanic Garden.
The winner of the competition will be unveiled in October during the Britain in Bloom awards ceremony.
As the journey towards the UK Finals progresses, Dundee's residents and stakeholders remain optimistic about their prospects and are eager to showcase the city's commitment to environmental sustainability and community engagement.
