Arkive has announced it will close its Dundee store after 25 years, marking the end of a long-running presence in the city’s street, skate and urban fashion scene.
The Seagate-based shop confirmed the news in a statement shared with customers, citing ongoing pressures facing independent retailers. The decision brings to a close more than two decades of trading in Dundee city centre.
In their announcement, Arkive said: “With great regret and due to harsh retail environment we are no longer able to run Arkive any longer. We aim to clear all the stock by the end of January and minimum discounts are 50% with some goods upto 90% off.”
They added: “We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your amazing support over the last 25 years. It was an honour serving you.”
For many Dundonians, Arkive was more than a clothing shop. It played a key role in shaping local youth culture, introducing generations to streetwear brands and providing a space that reflected Dundee’s creative edge.
