Angus Cycle Hub is set to take on an exciting new role in Dundee, as the organisation is appointed to operate a green travel facility in the newly redeveloped Bell Street multi-storey car park.

The announcement comes as part of Dundee City Council’s wider effort to transform the space into a Green Transport Hub, following a major £14.4 million boost from the UK Government’s Levelling Up Fund.

Once complete, the hub will feature a range of active travel services aimed at encouraging more people to cycle and use alternative, greener forms of transport.

These include a cycle lending scheme, a regional bike reuse centre, and a dedicated bike and wheeled sports skill park. The facility will be open to the public and is designed to support both everyday commuters and recreational users.

Angus Cycle Hub, a community interest company known for promoting cycling across Tayside, will operate from the ground floor of the facility.

The group brings a strong track record of encouraging sustainable travel and providing community bike services, including refurbishing used bikes and offering cycle training.

The transformation of the Bell Street car park is a major step in Dundee’s journey toward becoming a cleaner, greener city.

The repurposed building is expected to become a central point for green travel in the city centre, helping to reduce car use and support the council’s net zero ambitions.

Work on the car park refurbishment is continuing, with the facility set to reopen once the improvements are complete.

The inclusion of a regional cycle service hub also marks a significant step in expanding cycling access not just in Dundee, but across the wider area.

This development adds to a growing list of infrastructure projects in Dundee aimed at making it easier for residents and visitors to travel sustainably while improving access to services and supporting local social enterprises like Angus Cycle Hub.
