Anastasia Vaipan-Law and Luke Digby are on their way to Italy as the countdown begins to the Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics, ahead of the opening ceremony taking place on 6 February.
The Dundee-based pair are preparing to step onto the Olympic stage following a strong season on the international figure skating circuit.
The duo have built an impressive reputation in recent years and arrive in Italy as five-time British pairs champions. Their continued success at national level has cemented their status as one of Great Britain’s leading figure skating partnerships, built on trust, precision and years of working together on the ice.
Their most recent outing at the European Championships saw them finish seventh, a result that highlighted both their technical quality and their ability to perform under pressure. The performance offered an encouraging sign as they now turn their focus fully towards Olympic competition.
The journey to the Winter Olympics has demanded an intense level of commitment. Vaipan-Law and Digby have spent countless hours training, refining complex technical elements while also developing the artistic side of their routines to meet the highest international standards.
Preparation has extended well beyond competition programmes. Strength training, choreography sessions and recovery have all played a vital role, alongside the mental resilience required when working towards a goal as demanding as the Olympics.
Ahead of their departure, a special send-off was held at Dundee Ice Arena on Friday night. Supporters and members of the local skating community gathered to wish the pair well as they travel to Italy, proudly carrying Dundee with them as they take on the world’s best at the Winter Games.
