Dundee Museum of Transport has announced an exciting new addition to its collection — a 1953 AEC Regent III Alexander bus in the classic Dundee Corporation livery.
The museum revealed that it has successfully purchased the vintage bus with the support of the National Fund for Acquisitions, marking an important step in preserving Dundee’s rich transport heritage. To allow for the bus to be moved into place, the museum will be closed to the public on Friday.
The 1953 AEC Regent III represents a significant piece of the city’s history, once ferrying Dundonians across the city during a golden era of public transport.
The museum’s latest acquisition is expected to be a major attraction for visitors, offering a nostalgic glimpse into Dundee’s past.
The arrival of the bus highlights the museum’s ongoing commitment to preserving and celebrating the vehicles that shaped daily life in Dundee, adding to an already impressive collection of local transport history.
More details on when the bus will be fully unveiled to the public are expected soon.
