Abertay University is calling on women across Dundee and beyond to take part in a unique research study aimed at improving understanding of women’s heart health after menopause - and all it takes is a daily cup of tea.
The university is seeking women aged between 45 and 70 who are postmenopausal, healthy non-smokers, and regular tea drinkers to participate in the study.
Volunteers will be asked to drink English Breakfast tea every day for eight weeks between May and August 2025, with two visits to Abertay’s campus required during the study period.
Researchers say that while the risk of cardiovascular disease rises significantly after menopause, this area of women’s health remains under-researched.
By taking part, volunteers will not only contribute to vital scientific knowledge but will also be compensated for their time.
Women who are interested in taking part or who want to find out more are encouraged to visit www.teastudy.co.uk to register their interest.
