Wallace & Gromit and Aardman classics make rare return to the big screen in Dundee
Some of Aardman Animations’ best-loved films are heading back to the big screen this October as part of a special celebration marking 50 years of the iconic animation studio.
A selection of family favourites featuring characters including Wallace & Gromit and Shaun the Sheep will be shown during the October school holidays, alongside the brand-new adventure Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom.
The programme, dubbed ‘Aardmania’, celebrates five decades of Aardman Animations, the British studio behind some of the country’s most recognisable animated characters.
Among the classics returning to the big screen are three Wallace & Gromit adventures - A Grand Day Out, The Wrong Trousers and A Close Shave - alongside Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit.
Families will also be able to revisit Chicken Run, Flushed Away, The Pirates! In an Adventure with Scientists! and Early Man.
The screenings will take place during the October school holidays, giving families the chance to introduce a new generation to some of Aardman’s most popular films or enjoy them again on the big screen.
Special £5 tickets will be available for screenings of the classic favourites, while great-value family tickets are being offered for the new Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom.
The celebrations come during a milestone year for Aardman, which was founded in 1976 and has gone on to become one of the world’s best-known animation studios.
